You see them
everywhere
they're not like
netball mums
Once
(I'm sure) some were
Pavlova
obsessed and delirious
with the dream of immortality.
They have an inner light
that cannot be extinguished
You see their hearts are
different
to yours
or mine
Beware
they do not mix
well with Ballet
Teachers
or
anyone who
doesn't think that their
daughter
is
Pavlova
reincarnated.

country rain

Friday 24 August 2007 8 responses

the city rain
grows a smile
under my umbrella
bustled CEOs
with three dollar bargain protection
from the wind
walking so fast
and i, four paces behind
on purpose

suburban children
sitting by windowsills
running the list of
rainy day activities
searching the skies
for a chance to
go out and play again
or children
desperate to pounce in puddles
on purpose

but the country rain
best by far
cuddled on a porch swing
under a blanket
watching the storm
casts your soul
on a one way trip
bound for hush
draws sleepy contentment
to your eyes
makes you thankful
creates desire
to stop time
on purpose

country rain
soft and slow
fast and flooding
anger with lightning
designed
to bear you closer
strip you down
on purpose

i enjoy city rain
and how it exposes true personalities
i cannot belie suburban rain
or the hopefulness it brings
the joy on the child's face
spinning and playing
but the country rain
has captured my soul
and I will fail to reclaim it
on purpose

MITI’S LITTLE WORLD

Sunday 19 August 2007 8 responses

TRIPS TO THE LIBRARY
FILLED WITH DR. SEUSS AND STAR WARS
ALWAYS IN A HURRY
RIDING BIKES NO HANDS ON THE BARS

DIGGING IN THE SAND
BUILDING CASTLES AND MOATS
ITS THE SAME LIL HAND
THAT FILLS THE HOUSE WITH PIANO NOTES

WATCHING TV SHOWS
NODDING HIS HEAD IN RAPT ATTENTION
PLAYING WITH LEGOS
CREATING THE NEXT INVENTION

MY SWEET MITI
LET YOUR INNER CHILD FOREVER BE!

About
A technical writer by profession, books have been my constant companion. I get to choose between humour, whodunits and historicals. As a logical extension, I also love movies... I enjoy traveling and finding out little bit of interesting useful trivia about places, people, products. I believe that every human has a social right of not listening to bores, and secretly pray that I never become a bore myself. I dabble in a lot of interests – Website Design, Numerology, Writing, Astrology. Mostly I like to figure out what makes a person or product tick. As a result, I have peeked under the hood of Wordpress CMS a lot. [Like what I see there '-)] I am an idea person. Its ideas that give direction to a thought and doing that shapes the thought.. Once I figure something out, I promptly lose interest..

My favourite Quote: Why is it that when you pray to God, its praying, but when GOD talks back, you are mad?

Your eyes so sage have smiled

for five fitfully full years

half a decade

just a glance away

a bar length away

crinkling

at the corners

smirking scotch fully

I drank it then

Your teddy bear hugs

hide me

from myopic men

who leer too long

and

I feel safe

with your friendship

Who Am I?

Saturday 4 August 2007 2 responses

I have an object in my hand,
It only moves when I command.

It can speak and tell a lie,
Yet has no feelings and cannot cry.

It says I love you but has no heart.
Yet keeps us together when we're apart

And in my hand it can be brave,
But does as it's told, for it's my slave.

It doesn't move till I say when,
So now I place it away....
